Alois Lageder

Alois Lageder

Established in 1823, Alois Lageder is a renowned family-owned wine producer in Alto Adige, Italy's northernmost wine region. Now operated by the 5th and 6th generation of the family, Alois Lageder is widely considered a synonym for the highest standard of quality in viticulture and winemaking, for a sustainable, holistic corporate philosophy, and for a wide spectrum of cultural and artistic activities.

The wines are made from both native and international grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the Lageder family - about 50 hectares - which are cultivated according to biodynamic principles and from grapes grown in the vineyards owned by long-term partnering grape growers.

The Lageders led the transformation of Alto Adige in the 1980s from being known as a region producing everyday wines to one that can claim world-class wines. The estate was also one of the first to make single-vineyard wines in the region.
