Founded in the mid-16th century, Codorníu is the world's oldest cava producer, made using the traditional champagne method. Their first bottles of Spanish sparkling wine were produced in 1872 by pioneer Josep Raventós of Cava. Over the past five centuries, Codorníu has been closely associated with wine development. Today, Codorníu is Spain's leading Cava producer and is run by a seventeenth generation member of the Codorníu family.
