BRAND NAME: Château Samion

Château Samion is the family domaine of Jean‐Claude Berrouet, the man who oversaw more than 40 vintages at the famed Château Petrus in Pomerol from 1964 until his retirement in 2007. Together with his son Jean‐François, they produce a small amount of wine from their holdings in Lalande‐de‐Pomerol which total a scant 1.2 hectare. The first vintage for Château Samion was 1979 when they rented the vineyards, but since 1985 they have been owned by the Berrouet family and the vines are now an average of 45 years in age.
