BRAND NAME: Château Siran
In 1855, Chateau Siran belonged to the Toulouse-Lautrec family, famous political opponents to Napoleon III. Therefore, when he came up with the idea of a Bordeaux classification, they refused to send samples down. As a result, they were never rated as a Grand Cru Classé, although their direct neighbours were all classified and have since then exchanged some land with them. What might appear to be a small detail in History, provides wine lovers with incredible value today... Since 1857, the Miailhe family has been crafting the purest expression of Margaux on this fantastic terroir.
