TASTING NOTES: Pale yellow with green hues. Aromatic to the nose with notes of buttery-vanillin oak flavours and exotic fruit (orange rind and honeyed grapefruit). On the palate, the wine is round, fleshy with wonderful minerality and again, delightful exotic fruit flavours. The new-oak flavours are present. Very nice balance between the oak, fruit and acidity. Excellent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Aperitif | Pastas with light sauces | Fish | White meats
BRAND NAME: Beychevelle
Grand Bateau is the result of a close collaboration between Barriere Frères with Château Beychevelle dating back to the 1980s. The boat on the label recalls the mythical longship of Château BEYCHEVELLE Cru Classé de Saint-Julien. Philippe Blanc, director of Château Beychevelle, provides his valuable knowledge for the vinification of Grand Bateau.
