GRAPES VARITETIES: 100% Chardonnay
TASTING NOTES: The 2023 vintage is especially vivid: lemon zest, crisp pear, and white flowers, with a touch of leesy texture and a long, mineral finish that speaks to the limestone-rich soils of the region. There’s no flashy oak—just clean, focused Chardonnay with tension and grace.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Seafood | Roast chicken | Creamy vegetable dishes
BRAND NAME: Comte Lafon (Les Heritiers)
Considered one of the finest winemakers in France, Dominique Lafon produces some of the most coveted white Burgundies. He strongly believes in the potential in Maconnais where he has been making terroir-driven wines since 1999. Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon was also established in 1999 when the Lafon family purchased a small domaine in Milly-Lamartine. Their enthusiasm for the project has grown ever since, as has the domaine: today it covers 26 hectares in the most prestigious appellations of the Mâconnais, all farmed biodynamically.
