BRAND NAME: Domaine de Villaine

Since 1974, Aubert de Villaine took charge of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, one of the World's most sought-after wineries. He later set up home in the village of Bouzeron and began to put together a private domaine with his wife. Domaine de Villaine is located in Bouzeron, nestled in the Côte Chalonnaise region between Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay to the north and Rully and Mercurey. The Domaine began conversion to organic farming in 1986, becoming certified in 1997. The famous winemaker joined hand with his nephew, Pierre de Benoist, to rediscover the identity of the Côte Chalonnaise and Bouzeron, as well as the Aligoté grape in its original golden form.
