GRAPES VARITETIES: Merlot and Cabernet Franc
TASTING NOTES: Dark-fruited nose: black cherry, damson, ripe blackberry and warm plum, all laced with sweet tobacco, cocoa, and that unmistakable Mitjavile roasted note. On the palate, the wine is plush but controlled. Silky fruit glides across the tongue — cassis, dark cherry, raspberry coulis — supported by fine, ripe tannins and a pulse of bright acidity that lifts the whole mid-palate.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Red Meat | BBQ | Cold Cuts | Bun Bo Nam Bo
BRAND NAME: Domaine de Cambes
Domaine de Cambes is made from a section of the Roc de Cambes vineyard that is only entitled to the straight Bordeaux appellation. In the past only 20% new oak was used but Francois Mitjavile now thinks that the quality of the fruit deserves 100% new Radoux blend barrels. Around 16000 bottles are produced from 6 hectares of vines.
