BRAND NAME: Domaine La Brande
Located in the village of Saillans in Fronsac, the chateau has a long history, with the first vines planted in 1730. Benoît Sori and his wife Maud became the owners in 2017 and began making wine, a long-held dream. The vineyards cover 18 hectares, of which 7 hectares are A.O.C. Fronsac and 11 hectares are A.O.C. Bordeaux Supérieure. From here they produce very attractive red and white wines and Crémant de Bordeaux. Benoît and his wife had no experience in winemaking and started from scratch. In the first year, they learned all the know-how from the previous owner, including grape cultivation, the characteristics of the fields, weather conditions, and winemaking methods. Unfortunately, their first vintage, 2017, was damaged by a severe frost, resulting in a loss of 90% of the production. However, he says he learned a lot from this failure. Although he has only recently started winemaking, he has already attracted attention, including being featured in the specialist magazine "La Revue du Vin de France."
