Dating back to the 16th century, Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc, Bordeaux. The name Grand-Puy, already mentioned in documents from the Middle Ages, comes from the ancient term "puy” which means "hillock, small height”. True to its name, the vineyard sits on outcrops with a terroir similar to that of the Médoc's first growths. In 1855, Grand Puy Lacoste was honored to be on the 5th Growth of the Grand Cru Classe, the classification of fine wines initiated by Emperor Napoleon III.

This beautiful estate has a captivating history and produces two red wines - Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste and Lacoste Borie. The former is the winery’s namesake Grand Vin, and the latter is its critically-acclaimed second wine.
