Alvaro Palacios

If there is any wine producer that embodies the promise and spirit of “The New Spain”, it is Alvaro Palacios.

Established in 1990 by Alvaro Palacios himself, the winery has been at the forefront of Priorat's rise to fame as one of Spain's most prestigious wine regions. At the image of their work in Priorat, they helped develop a quality system based on Burgundy's pyramid of appellations. Their flagship Priorat wine, L’Ermita, is one of Spain's most collectible wines.

Today, Palacios is deeply committed to organic viticulture and natural winemaking practices, such as the use of organic fertilizers in the stone-covered, clay soils. Alvaro was also instrumental in the development of the Bierzo appellation, centered around the Mencia grape.
