TASTING NOTES: Described by winemaker Alvaro Palacios as ‘flowing wide in the mouth and possessing the wild strength of the mountain from which the wine hails,’ La Montesa is an exceptional, Mediterranean Garnacha-based wine, incredibly well-balanced with velvety red-fruit notes and hints of sweet spice, orange peel and dulcet yellow peaches found both in the nose and on the palate.

BRAND NAME: Alvaro Palacios
This winery is located in the Rioja Baja and the technical director, Álvaros Palacios, is one of Spain’s most important and influential producers. He spent 2 years at Château Pétrus before setting up on his own in Priorat in 1989. From the forgotten vineyards of Priorat, he added the now iconic L’Ermita wine, known as one of the finest wines of Spain.
