GRAPE VARIETIES: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc
TASTING NOTES: The 2011 Rauzan-Ségla has a ripe, flesh, red plum, hoisin and sandalwood-scented bouquet, quite showy and forward, willing to give sensory pleasure now. The palate is beautifully balanced, fresh and saline with fine grain tannins. Linear, but there is tension here that is missing in some of the other 2011 Margaux wines. Persistent on the finish - this is excellent.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Classic meat dishes (veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes) | Asian dishes | Hearty fish courses (tuna, salmon) | Pasta | Cheese
BRAND NAME: Château Rauzan-Ségla

The history of Château Rauzan-Ségla begins under the reign of Louis XIV, when Pierre de Rauzan acquires the estate in 1661. Over time, generations of Rauzan succeed at the head of the property. The reputation of Rauzan-Ségla’s wines is growing remarkably and they are among the most highly rated in Bordeaux. A few years later, the 1855 ranking will place Château Rauzan-Ségla at the rank of Second Grand Cru Classé. CHANEL purchased Chateau Rauzan-Ségla in April 1994
